For anyone who may be interested in Laura Dekker, the
youngest person to sail around the world alone, she is in the limelight again
after arriving in New Zealand where she plans to settle. She has triple
citizenship, Dutch, German and New Zealand, the latter on account of being born
in Whangarei. Her German mother and Dutch father were divorced in 2002.
Laura’s immediate aim is to finish her education, and, if
circumstances permit, to try her hand at racing dinghies and ocean sailboats.
