Just over five years ago I wrote Part 1,* and today I’m as entranced
as I was then with this minimal sailboat. Over a year later, after writing the
article, I found myself looking at Paul H’s ‘Illusion’** with the possibility
of buying her and finishing her off to
resemble Matt Layden’s ‘Elusion’. For various reasons I changed my mind and I
did not buy the partly-finished boat. She may still be for sale; I don’t know,
but Paul’s ‘Illusion’ webpage** is live, and nothing appears to have changed.
However, I have changed; I am five years older and my enthusiasm for doing a
new building project has somewhat diminished.
What is amazing is that I am still intrigued with the magic
of this fantastic little boat, i.e., Matt’s ‘Elusion’. She charms me. If ever I
were to get back on the water, something liker her would be ideal for pottering
on my local river. It seems I’m dreaming again, and there’s nothing wrong with
that.

Bill, definitely something appealing about these little lidded dinghys -- freedom!
And definitely nothing wrong with dreaming -- it's what get's me through the day!
The following illustrates one of my dreams and I'm very happy for the young couple to be living it:

One day, God willing.
Thanks Stephen. I enjoyed watching the YouTube video.
I also did two crossings of the North Sea with my Hunter Europa which was identical to theirs.
My wife and our youngest daughter joined me at Amsterdam, and we had a great time exploring the inland waterways of Holland, after which I did the return crossing to Burnham-on-Crouch.
Where there's a will there's a way. It is my belief that if you want something enough, and you can find the means to fund it, you will fulfil your dream. In which case, God will be willing.
Best wishes,
Bill.
