Joanna facing camera - Tin-Tin back to camera
There’s been yet another fully packed day with action at the
Games, but time available for watching events on TV was understandably limited;
indeed I wouldn’t have wanted to spend the whole day glued to the telly. However, I was able to see the all English
Mixed Doubles Table Tennis Final between Liam Pitchford and Tin-Tin Ho, and
Paul Drinkhall and Joanna Drinkhall. The Married couple clinched
the gold by winning game five with a score of eleven points to five.

Nicola Adams victorious
Michaela Walsh gutted
I watched Nicola Adams and Michaela Walsh fight for the gold
medal in the Women’s Flyweight Boxing Final which was compulsive viewing,
though my least favourite sport. Why women want to bash one another about the
face and head, I cannot fathom. The match was scrappy and vicious at times.
Nicola just had the edge over her opponent to become the first woman in the history of the Games to win a
gold medal for boxing.
