Drascombe Coaster, Part 2

'Gala'

Part one was posted on Saturday, December 18th 2010. (See link below)

In that article, Max who owns Bursledon Blog commented that he was looking forward to a summer of simple sailing aboard his recently acquired Drascombe Coaster. I gathered that he was also looking forward to meeting Julian to compare his Coaster with Julian’s Bay Cruiser 20. I wonder how things went.

5 HP Mercury

Built by McNulty

If Max or Julian happen to read this, maybe you could make a comment to tell us how you got on? Perhaps you’ve already done articles about the get-together on your own blogs.

Ian Cowie made a comment to say that he bought ‘Moksha’, his Coaster, in April 2010. He has a splendid blog. (See link below)

For Sale

‘Gala’, the McNulty Drascombe Coaster featured in the above photos, is for sale at Clarke and Carter, Burnham-on-Crouch Yacht Harbour. She has a new 5HP Mercury outboard, and she’s on a galvanized, braked road trailer. (See link below)

  1. Bill, truth be told I didn't get on with the Coaster and it was sold in July.

Nothing fundamentally wrong with it just the wrong boat for me at the time.

  2. Max,

You'll have a job keeping up with me in the league table of acquiring and selling boats!

    Cheers,

    Bill.

  3. I quite envy those people who have the same boat for 30 or 40 years, but we find that what we want from sailing changes and it's good to experience a variety of boats
