Happy Birthday

If it is your good fortune you may celebrate many birthdays and enjoy longevity of life. As I walked down my driveway today there was a colourful banner attached to the garage door with the words ‘Happy Birthday’. The greeting was for my eldest daughter. I was returning from the morning church service and I knew the celebrations had begun. The day before the party, cooks had been hard at work preparing various curries and tasty sweets. This was a day to enjoy and a day for thanksgiving. The sun shone and all was well. A Great Grandfather and a wonderful Great Nanny had a fine treat as we shared with our family and revelled in their company. Later that evening we chatted via the miracle of Skype video with our daughter and granddaughter who live in Italy so that they could share some of the fun. Maybe the celebrants of today’s joy will all have longevity of life and share many happy birthdays. That would be our wish and prayer. (Psalm 127:3 – 5)
